MARTON SHOW.
The second annual show of the Marton, District A. and P. Association, which is to be held on February 11, promises to be even a more pronounced success than the first. The membership is already very large, and is still growing, and a large sum has been donated to the prizo fund. The committee are specialising in horces and fat lambs. In'the horse classes and competitions about £200 are allotted in prizes,' and in addition silver cups have been donated. In the fat sheep and fat lamb classes exhibitors aro well catered for, and tho committeo anticipate largo entries. About £70 has been allotted in prizes in these sections, and in addition a silver cup, value £5 55., has been donated for tho best pen of lambs' suitable, for freezing. Several tons of manure have been donated in these classes as special prizes, a points prize of £6 in fat sheep and lambs, and in fat lambs a points prize of £8 Bs. Tho grounds on. which the show is to be held are most conveniently situated, being only a few minutes' walk from the Marton railway station, which will bo a groat boon to exhibitors and the general public. In regard to railway facilities, the public can/reach Marton by the Main Trunk express coming south, and can get away by the express going north in the evening. ftqually, the trains from Palmcrston North, Feuding, and Wanganui reach jlarton in ample time for the show. Excursion fares have been arranged for. The secretary will be pleased to give any information, and will post schedules promptly.
