Insistence by tho Labour Department on tho opening of the union changed tho situation, '.t'ho new union met on Monday to remoyo restrictions on entrance, tho objection of the Department their being overcome. Tho agree* ment was registered the following morning, before the'influx of -ex-strikers commenced. _ It provides for the old condition's, with the' following addition to the usual preference clause:—"This clause shall operate only so long as tho union'shall not be'associated'in any way with any other industrial union or trade union or association of such' union or association of other'workers."' ■
