A considerable number of complaints by waterside workers against ex-strik-ers, who are also members of the 'union, were considered and discussed. The position of the Arbitrationists. who remained loyal during the striked was amongst other matters discussed. It was decided that further police protection must bo sought on the wharf, and greater supervision exercised over the men working in the holds of vessels. Any man" who is found to have used any insulting expressions, or to have been guilty of disorderly conduct towards those working in'the holds of ships will be instantly dismissed, and,'where poseiblo, a police prosecution will follow, i Preference badges will bo supplied to all union members who joined the organisation prior to December 8. The badge consists of a disc of white'metal attached to a pin for wearing on tho lapel'of the coat. On it is depicted a lion seated on a crown and holding the Union Jack. Round the edge are embossed the letters, W.W.L.I.UiW., 1913 (Wellington Wharf Labourers' Industrial Union of Workers). Each disc is numbered, and a.record will bo kept of all members to whom they are supplied. Members aro requested to apply . for their badges either to-day or to-morrow. The charge for each will be one shilling. The badges will be officially recognised by the foremen employing labour on Monday morning. Strict instructions will bo given to the effect that any man wearing a badge must receive absolute preference when labour is offering.

The union executive would be glad if all members, who are entitled to badges, would call at the secretary's office and procure them not later than Saturday at 4.30 p.m.
