HEMP AND TOW GRADING.

■ THE YEAR'S FIGURES, ; - The quantities. of hemp, loir,, and stripper slips'graded at tbg ports of this Dominion during the moiitlv of December. 191.1, • are supplied by. tho Department of Agriculture, 'file total number of hales of hemp graded was 11,496, as compared with 13,511 for .the ■'corresponding .month, of last year, an increase' of 955 bales. For tho twelve months ending December 31, 1913, tho number of bales graded, was 169,419,' as- coin paved with 99,922 for tho -previous twelve- months, the increase ! bcinjr 69,497 balu. During the month 4706 bales of tow were dealt with, as compared with 5331 for the corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 625 bales.
