Captain Lane, of tho schooner Polar Bear, lias written to the Navy Department stating that Anderson's party,' belonging to Stefansson's expedition, are safe in winter quarters, with tho wipply vessels Alaska and N Mary Sachs, hitherto believed to havo been lost. Nothing further is known concerning Stefansson's fate, but tho Navy Department officials feel confident that ho is safe. ■ ■ ■ '. ..
