The cashier of tho Paris oflico of the "New York Herald" has disappeared with £5000 belonging to his paper. Ho left a letter explaining that ho first took £4000, with which to finance a scheme for selling pearls in America, but his partner abandoned tho business, and liad gono off with tho money. Therefore, ho had taken £1000 moro, hoping, with their help, to mako tho cuterpriso succeed.
