At the Petono West School yesterday the pupils presented Mr. D. Bcdingfieid with a gentleman's companion, and Mr.. D. Robertson, first assfstant, with a morocco pocket-book, c,s marks of esteem. . The Petono Catholic School picnic was held yesterday at Day's Bay, * largo number of parents and friends journeying with the children bv motor-van. Games and sports wero indulged in, and an enjoyable day's outing was experienced. The usual meeting of tho . Hope of Pctonc Lodge, 1.0.G-.T., was held on Wednesday ovening, Bro. Parkin, C.T., presiding over a good attendance. "Christmas greetings" was the item for the evening, and each member received a card. Tho adult lodge paid a visit to the Ever i Faithful Juvenile Temple, and it. is intended to invito this lodge on January 21. The, meting was closed by the C.T. (Bro. Parkin), who reminded members of January 7, 1914, when Bro. Thomson, S.C.T., will lecture.
