A.good deal of ground has been prepared for rape in tho Masterton district, but sowing operations have been delayed in consequence of tho weather. At a mooting of directors of the Masterton Co-operativo Dairy Company on Saturday, tho secretary reported that tho butter-fat received for November was 44,7871b., being an increase of 15,4051b. over November, 1312. The local market sales had increased by 11401b. over November of last year, and the sales of .ico had also increased. A Bub-oommitteo was set up to report upon the question of procuring another motorlorry. A Masterton shearer stated on Saturday that the shearing chcqucs this year would be very small. During tlio last month ho had shorn only 400 shepp, and ho thought lie would bo very luc.ty if no got 3000 through for the season. The output was 4!- tons in advanco of that for tlio corresponding month of last year, and 1:1 tons in excess of tho previous monthly record. Tlie company now has 100 suppliers on its books. At the Dominion Show at Auckland on Friday the company's exhibit of export butter was awarded 95i points, the first ])rize being divided between three factories which each scored 95i points. Tho competition was .open to all New Zealand factories. The cheese industry is bounding ahead at a great pace, and some factories are showing increased profits..
