At the southern port sheMias to discharge about -100 tons of transhipments from the-Kaiapni, and will then be dispatched for Napier, Gisborne juul Auckland. The total number of men working at the Duiirdii' wharves yesterday was 230. It is stated that strike pav was disbursed to w.itersiders yesterday, CIS-") having been forwarded bv l.he Vodera lien. A new Arbitration Union was formed at Tort Chalmers yesterday, 28 members joining. None of them was connected with the old Watersiders' Union. Stops are being taken to form an Arbitration Union by tlio- shipwrights and carpenters. The Kittaiva was delayed by rain, and has nob sailed yet.
