A BRUTAL CRIME.

Christina Bradfiold, tho victim of the Liverpool murder," was 35 years of age, and was' tho manageress of her mother's tarpaulin works. Sho was accustomed to wait at tho office until closing. Two young packers on Wednesday also remained. Ono was arrested, and tho other, Gcorgo Hunter, is missing. Tho police surmise that Miss Bradfield was preparing to leave when sho was stunned by a club and brutally bludgeoned to death. In their hurry the murderers thrust her umbrella-, with tho body into a sack arid wheeled it in a handrca-rt three-quarters of a milo through crowded streets to tho canal. Despite the fact that it was weighted .with two iron bars, the sack floated, and the body became jammed in the block gates, otherwise it would probably have been swept out to sea. The hand-cart and bludgeon have •since been found.
A considerable, .amountj,o ( f |o nioney is missing. ' '' ' ' Samuel Eltoft, a packer, has been charged .and remanded for a week. He confessed that he wheeled Miss Bradfield's body to the canal.
