HIS LETTER TO HIS BOARD. (By Telesraph;—Special Qorreßponfient.l . Palmerston, December 12. On Thursday.tho High School Governors considered,/tho following letter received, by .'Mr.' W. H. Cqllingwood (ajtingnchairman). from Mr. G... A. Luudie, ono.of tho High School masters :— . »vlieferring rto my ■- conversation .with you at your-office,'l desire to inform you that, in tho light of . your asseverations to me, that this board could well afford to pay mo a good salary, but' that it will not do 50,.-because all its members (as you assort) are hostile to mo, and that you yoursr-ll will ' opposo my advancement'ill this school,, and, in view of certain "allegations made ..against mo by yourself, as com- .. numicated to you by tho actingrcctor of this school, and by tho diroctor of .the Technical School,and, iu view of tho general dissatisfaction existing in this town over tho whole local administration of secondary education, and in view of the shameful way that I have been treated by this board, and for various other' cogent reasons—one • .-.being that it- is useless for mo to expect impartial justico at your hands—l have drawn up, and am sending, without delay, a comprehensive complaint to fa) the Ministor of Education, (b"l the Educational Institute, of New Zealand, and (c) the Secondary School Assistants' Association. lam demanding 'an exhaustive public inquiry into all matters that have transpired in connection with the High and Technical Schools since my advent here. I also intend acquainting the local Press of the action that I am taking. In a. further letter, Mr. Lundio stated that ho had dccided not to send the complaints on to tho Minister, pending the board's meeting. ■Mr. Lundio attended a meeting of tho' board at tho request of Mr. Collingwood, but the latter explained that tho matter which he (Mr. Lundie) wanted to have elucidated had since been decided by tho Magistrate's Court, and, consequently, thoro would bo no need for Mr. Lundio to be. in attendance. 'Mr. Lundie then left tho meeting, and the board went into committee on the matter. Subsequently it was decided to take no action.
