A CLOUD BURST.

A severe thunderstorm visited (>or9 and district this afternoon,- A waterspout burst over a farm war Waikaka Valley, and inundated several farms. About sheep hero drowned and -fences were carried away. A large -paddock drilled for turnips was levelled, and tiia 'surface was carried to the lowest which was covered with silt to a depth of four or live fw-t. It is.reported that tlio railway line shifted fmir«i- five feet. Farmers were taken unawares -anti could do nothing but look on and see stock washed away. There was fourteen feet of water in some gullies which were usually dry. A few miles away tbera was tto rain at -all.
