WOMEN'S RESOLUTION.
ON SERVICES BY SETTLERS. (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Blenheim, December 10. The Wairau Women's Political Reform League has passed a resolution expressing sincere admiration for tho sterling display of patriotism shown by so many country settlers during the recent industrial crisis, which threatened not only the cessation of the trado of tho Dominion, but also to displace law and order by mob rule. "Without doubt," continues the resolution, "tho prompt and capable services of settlers mainly assisted iu averting thoso calamities, and the league is of opinion that such services deserve the gratitude of all who desire a law-abiding and prosperous New Zealand."
