LYTTELTON ELECTION.
SECOND BALLOT, J'RKPAHATtONS. (By Totcsranll,—l'roas Associations Clirlstchurch, December 10. i The Labour and Reform organisationi arc liiinl at work again to-day in preparation for the second ballot on Tuesday. Particular attention is being given by both sides to people who failed to vote yesterday. Allowing for the condition of the roll, it in'estimated that nearly a thousand eligible voters omitted to record their votes. It scenis reasonable tit assume that practically the whole of organise'! Labour polled and the regular Reform votes were polled. The majority of the absentees are probably not strong partisans in either direction. The supporters of both candidates profess confidence. Mr. Laurensoii is tailing no part in the second ballot, and leaves his sury porters a free. hand.
