A farmer in Aberdeenshire- was fined for non-compliance with the Insurance Act, and his cow was seized by the sheriff and taken to town for sale under police, protection. Three thousand farmers and others rushed the animal and its attendants out of the Market Square, and the cow was last seen galloping homewards. The crowd then chased the auctioneer into a shed and pelted the building.with road metal. The police guarded the doors. •
