Tho latest candidate for the position of deputy is Mr, Hiram Hunter, who has been nominated by the Cbristcbiireh Tramway Employees' liltion. There aro now Uireo candidates from Wellington, two from Christen m-ch, and ono from Auckland, Keen interest is boiw; taken in tho election hero, tho general opinion being thai tho issues lies between Messrs. A. 11. Cooper and E. J. Carey. The- chances of the latter appear to bo most favoured.
