The final results of tho elections are delayed, owing to the fact that the returning officers must receive all tho absent votes before opening any of thorn. The "Sydney Morning He-raid's" forecast (assuming that the Liberals win nine out of the twelve second ballots) of tho new Houso is: Liberals 45 Labour 39. Independent 3 Doubtful 3 (Rec. December 10, 0.30 a.m.)
Sydney, December 9. The position with regard to tho elections lias undergone little change today. The absent votes aro proving moro bulky, and in many cases it is anticipated that these may yet causo surprises, and avert somo of the second ballots.
Mr. Holman expects that this will prove to bo tho case. Tho Libera! candidate is leading by 73 votes for the Enmcre seat, and it is possible that tho absentee vote may_ a\erfc a socond ballot, arid givo Mr. Hall a fighting chance of winning. Mr. M'Glrr, tlio Labour candidate fit Murrurnbidgee, is 28 votes ahead of tho other combined figures, and there will probablv be no second ballot needed, while in the Upper Hunter electorate tlio Liberal candidato avoid a second ballot bv ono vote, with the absentees still uncounted. (Eee. December 10. 1.10 a.m.) Sydney, December 9. Mr. Wado (Leader of the Opposition), reviewing tho Second Ballot prospects, predicts a final Liberal majority of four or five.
