At a lai'2o and representative meeting of tho Westport Chamber of Commerce to-day, over sixty members being present-, it was resolved to ask the Union Steam Ship Company to send a boat with merchandise to Westport, and to ask tho Primo Minister to use his influence with the company to this end. Tlio citizens aro guaranteeing tho labour required. It is understood that tho watersiders will bo given an opportunity to handle the cargo, and failing their agreeing to do so, the importers, themselves are to handle tho cargo. Everyone is feeling tho position very hadlv. Business pcop'.o are out of sugar, and there is a shortage iu many other directions.
