UNIONS NOT ON STRIKE.
Many of tho trades unions, not on striko, sent- delegates to a meeting held in tho Trades Ilall on Sunday afternoon. Tho following resolution waa carried: —"That this meeting of duly appointed delegates from unions registered under tho Arbitration Act, after having given consideration to the prosent industrial cris's, and desiring to r,co tho present deadlock brought to nil honourable close, hereby calls upon tho Government to intercede and compel the employers to agree to tho reasonable proposal of tlio United Federation of Labour that Sir Joshua Williams lie appointed arbitrator between the parties to the dispute," It was further decided that a petition ho drawn up urging the Government to bring the parties to tho dispute together. Signatures of members of all uaions and those of the general public, who aro seriously affected through tlio strike, will bo obtained to tho petition.
