All business activities aro being carried 011 as usual. At Lyttelton this morning tho only arrival was tho, Opouri from Now Plymouth. The cruiser l'yranuis, having sailed yesterday for tho New Hebrides, via Wellington, her berth at tho Gladstone Pier was taken this morning by tho American four-masted schooner lkiubridge, which arrived in_ the stream 011 Friday with a cargo of Oregon timber from Puget Sound. Tho Kittawa is loading a largo cargo, and will sail to-morrow morning for the south. Sho will return on Friday, to load for Nelson and New Plymouth. Tho Kaitaugata, which has for somo weeks been at anchor in tho stream, was iwrtlied this morning, to commence the discharge of her cargo of coal from Newcastle. Towards the end of the woek tho Norwegian, steamers Ilcrcules and Titania arc oxpected to complete tho dischargo of their cargoes of jarrali from Buubnry. To-morrow tho little steamer Wont-ton is duo from Picton, to load piwiuco for Wellington, and % Kairski is also due from Hokitika with timber. The latter vessel will sau ou Thursday for New Plymouth and Foxton. Tho departure at the week-end of tho liners Corinthic _ and Romuora naturally mado a gap in tho berthage accommodation, but tho arrival in a few days' time- of the Arawa and the Tiirakina should see tho wharves occupied again for sonio days. Mr. Cooper, secretary of the Employers' Association, states ho is still taking names of men prepared to work on. tho wharves as members of the Arbitration Union, but is not sending additional men to liyttclton at present.
