« METHODS OF WHITE SLAVE AGENTS. DRUGGED VICTIMS. SENSATION IN NEW YORK. Br MccraDh—Press Association—Corvricht "Times"—Sydney "Sun" Special Cables. (Rec. December 8, 0.40 p.m.) Now York, December 7. Lurid revelations regarding tho methods of the white slave traffic agents aro expected in New York as the result of the arrest of a man named Armand Megaro, a young South American, employed as a chemist's assistant, on a charge of administering a drug, by moans of a hypodermic syringe, to Airs. Marjorio Graff, the fortnight-old wife of a Newark civil engineer. Tho woman was sitting in a box at a New Jersey ciuoma entertainment. Megaro took tho seat alongside. Suddenly sho l'clt a sharp prick on her aim, and immediately felt herself becoming numb. Sho managed to retain her senses, and staggered to tho dress-ing-room, where she informed tho attendants. She then collapsed, but afterwards recovorod\ and led tho police to tho box, whore Megaro was still sitting. Tho accused was arrested, strongly protesting his innocence, alid was released on bail, in a surety of 4000 dollars. The polico believe that Mogaro's arrest will clear up numerous mysterious disappearances of young girls. A similar case was that of a girl Jvlio was drinking auice-crean soda when two men, seated next to lier, injected a drug. Tho girl retained her senses sufficiently to call the attendants. Tho men claimed relationship with tho girl, but the attendants were suspicious, and called the police as the luon were making off. The poison is possibly Eurari, a 'drug producing vertigo and drowsiness. Theso eases aro principally occurring in darkened picture theatres, the girls being kidnapped and removed to South American vice liaunts.
