THE WASHING-UP BILL.
Tho Washing-up Bill introduced last nighc contains 99 clauses. It provides, inter alia, that the owners of tho rcnowablo leases in respcct of Orown lands in the Opahuna village settlement may acquire tho freehold of their leases at any timo during tho currency of their leases. Tho Bill provides that tho executive of tho Auckland Exhibition njay have power to disposo of certain .exhibits, by Tho Bill also provides for tho payment of nn annuity, .of £150 a year for life to Colonel ..T.. W\ Porter, in recognition of faithful services, and in recognition of the fact that when ho retired from the Public Service ho was not entitled to a retiring allowance, although he was a contributor to tho superannuation fund. .
