'By Tekeraph.—Pr-NS Association.) InvercargiH, December 1. The Supreme Court sitting -concluded on Saturday. John James Stork, aged 15, was brought up for sentence on a charge of indecently assaulting a female, 6J years of age.- Hb was sentenced to five years' reformative treatment. Judgment was reserved in case, Hood Bros. v. the National Mortgage and Agency Co., a claim for £5 lis. Plaintiffs engaged the defendants' Gore auctioneer to hold a clearing sate, during the course of which tho auctioneer accepted bids from a man named Ferguson, as agent for a runholder named Cameron, for goods to the value of £51 10s Cameron subsevuently disclaimed Ferguson's agency, and the company, in the account of the salo rendered to plaintiff, deducted tho amount of Ferguson's purchases. Plaintiffs sued for the amount, contending that defendants were negligent in not ascertaining whether Ferguson was financially capable, of completing the purchases, and whether ho held Cameron's authority to act as agent. Decision was reserved.
