BIG MASONIC GATHERING.

A Masonic function of exceptional interest took place yesterday afternoon, when Mr. Alfred Seymour Bankart was installed as R.W.D.G.M. of English freemasons in the Auckland district. Tho gathering of several hundred brethren included distinguished Masonic visitors from all parts of the Dominion, and the proceedings wero most impressive, the ceremony being in charge of Worshipful Bro. J. R. Reed, who has filled tho office of District Grand Master during tho past seven years. Last evening a dinner was tendered to tho visiting and Auckland brethren by tho newly-elected District Grand Master.
