JOTTINGS FROM PROVINCIAL | CENTRES. NAPIER. Mr. Quigley, of Wnngnnui, has been appointed accountant oi tiio Hastings branch of tho National Bank, to bo opened in a fortnight's time, and Mr. )-J. T. Hces, of Vireymoutii, replaces Mr. H. K. \'on Dadeiszen as nccountaut at the Napier branch. Mr. Von Undelszen will assume the managership at Hastings. Mr. aud Mrs. li. P. Stratton, wiio have been on a holiday visit to Sydney, returned to Hastings yesterday evening. As a result of tlie Presbyterian letc just concluded at Hastings it is anticipated that £'75 will be added to tho church funds.

Mr. John Collinge left Hastings yesterday morning for Auckland, ami expects to be absent about sis weeks. Among the passengers by tho mail train yesterday morning were: Miss E. At tho Magistrate's Court on Wednesday Mr. W. K. Hasolden presiding, a Territorial named John Dalton was charged with altering a medical certificate' of exemption from military training.
