SPECIAL ASSAULTED,
FINE OP £4 IMPOSED. Before. Mr. W. G. Riddel!, S.M., yesterday, a man named Charles Johnston, represented liy Mr. J.'. .). o'Megan, pleaded guilty lo a charge'of having, on November li), in Post Olfice Square, assaulted a special constable. Mr.' P. .). O'ltegan entered a plea for leniency on the ground of accused's previous good character. His Worship imposed a. line of £-1, in default twenty-one days' imprisonment, and was also ordered to enter into a bond of £20, and to lind two sureties of .CLO each that ho would keep the peace for six mouths. • Sir. OMiognu sn.id thai. Hie sureties would he found, and at his request accused was allowed a weak ill whieh to pay the lino.
