Auckland, December 4, Oliver Noel Gillespie, solicitor, aged thirty years, was charged at the Police Court that, at Podding cm Juno 1, he received £17111) Horn the trustees of the estate of Mr. James Vile on-iorms requiring him to account for same, and That ho failed to account for the money. The accused was a passenger on the Maheno. He was arrested yesterday on the ship's arrival at Auckland, lie was one of the passengers who worked as a volunteer stoker cm tho ship. The Chief Detective asked that- accused be remanded to appear at Feilding on Wednesday next, ami the remand was granted, no bail being asked for.
