BIG SHIPPING MOVE.

TRADE THROUGH PANAMA CANAL.
For months past speculation has been rife in shipping circles as to what action, if any, the Shaw, Savill mid Albion Company and tho New Zealand Shipping Company would take in regard to the new trades which it is anticipated will come into existence through the opening of the Panama Canal. .Several'statements Im'.p been published in this connection with regard to other big steamship lines, but up till the present the intentions of two of the largest companies trading between England - and New Zealand have not 'been mado known. From inquiries made yesterday, however, a reporter war, informed that provided a reasonable amount of support is forthcoming it is tho intention of tho Shaw, Savill and Albion Company and the New Zealand Shipping Company to establish a regular steamer service between New Zealand ports and the cast coast ports of North America when the Panama Canal is opened for traffic.
