» FIRE IN A LODGINGHOUSE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Boston, • December 3. A fire destroyed a lodginghou.se in tho south end of tho city. Numbers of men who jumped into tho life-nets were saved. One, a Swede, leaped from the top storey wrapped in a mattress, and escaped . with . somo scratches. After tho firo had been extinguished twenty-fivo dead bodies wcro recovered in' a charred state Several ambulauco loads of injured wcro conveyed to'tho hospital. (RCc. Tho cause of the fire at tho lodginghouse has not been discovered. An investigation has commenced with tho object of ascertaining if the house was overcrowded at the time. The injured arc recovering, and there havo been no further deaths.
