WATER FAMINE THREATENS MANY TOWNS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyrisrht Sydney, December 3. Great heat is general. Bush fires in many districts have, caused sovero damage. Many farmers round Dubbo and Junoe aro heavy losers of wheat, hay, and grass. Somo of the farms have been swept clear by the fires. A number of towns, including Broken Hill, arc feeling the effects of the protracted hot weather. A water famine is threatened. Sydney, December 7. T]io heat wave- is intensifying. Among the many high registers aro Bourko and Jerry's Plains, each' 116. In Queensland the registers in tho Longreach districts ranged from 120 to 124. Bush fires aro prevalent everywhere..
