ST. JOHN'S JUBILEE.
The celebrations of St. John's Diamond Jubilee were concluded List evuniugt, when a social evening tor the children and youns psoplc of the church was held in the "Church Hall, Dixon Street. The building was crowded to the doors. The iicv. Dr. Gibb presided, and in a few remarks addressed to the young people -nailed attention to the significance of the jubilee, and cmplmr-ised the importanco of the scrvica rendered to tho church by the elders, man.ijier?. and Sunday School teacher.?.. He pointed out to the boys that it was to them the (,'hui'ck v.-ould < look to take the place, of the men who hod so lons borne tho burden and heat, of the day. A very interesting programme of musical, vocal, and ventriloquial items and recitations was then proceeded with, and refreshrooitts vera nerved. Dearfcy cheers were given for the elders, members of tho kirk session, for tile Sunday School teacher:-, and for Dr. GiW>. After tho younger Sunday School portion of thoso assembled, had left tor their hemes, :i happy social hour war spent by the young people of the Bible classes.
