ANOTHER RUMOUR ABOUT "SPECIALS." Mr. G. R. Sykcs, M.P. for Masterton, recently addressed the following question to tho Minister of Railways: Whether there is any truth in tlio rumour which is freely circulated that workers' from the country districts coming to Wellington for the purpose of obtaining employment on tho wharves and ships aro being conveyed by rail free of cost? The Hon. W..H. Herries (Minister of Railways) replied: The statement that workers from tho country districts aro being conveyed to Wellington f.rce of ehargo to work on tho wharves and ships not correct. Tho ordinary tariff clfarges aro being levied in cacii case.
