At noon to-day tho following vessels wore at tho wharves: —Turakina, Dor-. . set, lliroiro, Victoria, JHe-craki, "VYjii,i tomo, and Karoo, representing an aggregate of 84,000 'tons. Ail,-. savt> tho i Mooroki and tho Kamo, were worked this afternoon. Tiio total strength of the new union is now 103 members. Tim'c of tho unionists aro ox-membcrs. ■of the union on strike, and it is stated that a number of the latter have gone, - to L.vttellon and Wellington to work. It is 'understood that some of tho workers are desirous of appealing against the decision of Mr. Uarihoiomew. requiring the old Strike Committee to und sureties to keel) the peace, and that the parties concerned'will almost at once .discuss the question whether an appeal is to be made. At a meeting of the Hukanui Branch of the Farmers' Union it was unanimously resolved to take steps to protect tho 'fanners' interests during the. present strike, and to help in every way to "ot all produce shipped and to uphold the" Citizens' Defence Committee m their attitude towards the strikers.
