W. T. MILLS SHOUTED DOWN.
THREATENED WITH A DUCKING. (Hy TeUwapn.—l're?? Association.) Christchu/ch, December 2. Mr. \V. T. Mills has been summoned for creating a disorder in connection with a meeting at Sumner, where ho attempted to speak in tho open air. He was shouted down and threatened with a ducking. At the Dutiediu Police Court, Arthur 'Puffin, a striker, admitted using obscene languago to a man working a winch en t'ho steamer luvcicargiir on November 25. A fine of £,'), or three, weeks' imprisonment, was indicted, accused being also bound over in his oivn recognisance of £50 and two sureties of £25 to keep the peaco for six mouths. Jii resnoii-io to an appeal by tho Nightcaps Miners' Union to miners who refused to striko when the previous appeal was made, only one answered tho call.
