NEW DRIVER'S UNION.
PREMIUM ON ADMITTANCE. The total strength of tho new Drivers' Union has now reached within a few members of 300. From yesterday it hag been decided that any further applicants for admission io the union will bo retiiiircd to pay an entrant* feu of 55., in addition to tile subscription of 'is. per month. This decision is tho outcome of tho filling up of tho raults of the new union, about half of whouo membership is comprised of thosa drivers who belonged tn the old body. As most of the places of the poniianent drivers who went on strike) have now been idled, olid all drivers at work nro members of tlie new union, the existence of tlie old body appears to be somewhat superfluous, Practically tho only difference between -the new and. old" unions is that cabmen siro not included in the* membership of the new buly, and. motor-vehicle, drivers are.
