PENALTY FOR STRIKES.
FARMERS URGK DISFRANCHISEMENT. (By Telegrap]i.--Pve=s Association.) Hastings, December 2. At a meeting of the Hawko's Bay Provincial Kxecutive of tho Farmers' Union to-day, it was decided that it bo a rccommemlation to tho Dominion Executive to btinn; under the serious consideration of the Government tho necessity of legislating in tho direction of a further penalty for strikes by the unions working under an award of the Arbitration Act, or for persons interfering or intimidating free labour, and that it is strongly urged that tho penalty bo disfranchisement from Parliamentary or municipal elections for a minimum period of four years.
