Nobody siisivering t!io description is known locally. There is a clianeo that tlie body may have, been carried by currents from a distance. MAN FOUND HANGING. Ashburton, December 1. This morning the body of an elderly mail named William Maker, who had been employed at Crum liros. and Dvhrbcrg's brie!;ivories at'" Allenton, was found hanging by a rope from a rafter at the bricl; kiln. Deceased, who is said to be about oi) years of age, appeared to be in his usual health when last seen alivfc at 8.3 i) last night. Deceased came from Woolston to Ashburtou about a fortnight ago, and has .since resided with his wife in the suburbs of Ashburtoii.
