STRIKERS SEE THE NEW AVORK. Half a dozen striking watcrsiders stood outside tlio main gates of tlio Queen's Wharf yesterday discussing the men of the new union, and tho "class of work that they were doing. The wharfinger (Captain Idunro), hearing a chance remark which had reference"to "dccrcpits from tho country," said to them: "C'omo on along, you fellows, and have u look at them at work. Tho half-dozen men followed tho wharfinger to the" big wool store in Waterloo Quay, where .four press gangs wore at work dumping wool.*' "Hero you arc—havo a look at these, dumps. Not bad are they? Could vou do them any better?" The men had a good look, were each and all quito satisfied that the work was being dono as reported, and in tho eisd three of tho sis signed on as members of tho new union, and commenced to earn good ■ money right aw ay. . I.iitor a Dominion" reporter was asked to inspect the wool dumps pui. up by the arbitralionists. They appeared to he very evenly pressed and well branded. There was only one man to truck it double dump to its place, and they made light of the work. There will be five press gangs at work to-day, and by the end of tho week the whole'eight will be going.
