SCRATCH CREW'S GRIT. (By Telcsraph.—Press Association.' Cisbome, November 23. Tlio steamer Rosamond arrived Inst evening with a large quantity of merchandise, including much-wanted, supplies of sugar. Captain Dryden stated that tho trip from Auckland had been very rough, tho, steamer meeting with heavy westerly winds. The vessel has a crew of ofGco men, who include a solicitor, a barrister, two bank clerks, surveyor, draper, and two ordinary clerks.
In reference to his .scratch crow, Captain Dryden said that they had worked magnificently, ami in spite of the fact that they bad never been at sea before, accomplished the ordinary seamen's and stokers' work with creditHe could not praiso them too highly. They took turn about on tho fires, and at the deck work, and although it was a gruelling task, they nover Incltjd courage. The'vessel will complete iior discharge to-night, and return to Aue'.o land.
