WOMAN CROSSES AFRICA ON FOOT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright "Times"—Sydney "Sun" Special Cables Capo Town, November 2S. Miss Gertrude Bcnliam has cfossed Africa on foot. She started in October from Forcados, at tho mouth of the river Niger, passing Nyanza and finishing _at Zomba, in Portugueso East Africa. Her companions wero a cook, boy, and seven porters. Sho was absolutely unarmed, but, except for a few worries with the portors, she suffered no annoyance of any sort, and remained free from fever.
