At a largely attended meeting <)f the local branch of the l'ost and Telegraph Officers' Association the following resolution was framed: "That this branch, whilst recognising the soundness of the principle underlying the motion as put lorwanl and appreciating the stand til Icon by the conference, is of opinion that the motion, as put before the Commissioners, be withdrawn and the following substituted: 'That this conleronee of the Post and Telegraph Ollicers' Association is of opinion (hat the duties and responsibilities of the <: Ilicers in the l'ost and Telegraph Departments lias not been Fufik-ieiitly appreciated by the. Commissioners. tit view of the intimate tosicii of these Departments with the general pnbti!-, and the multifarious duties involved, as well as the general irregularity of hours, the conference expresses the opinion tliafc the allotment oi' salaries to various positions is generally on 100 low a scale.'
