CHILD DROWNED. Napier, November 29. A two-and-a-half-ycar-old child named Burton was drowned at Taradalc yesterday afternoon. WHARF WORKER INJURED. DEATH FROM POISONING, Miss Jean Stuarl.. a resident of Marton, died early yesterday morning as Iho result of having taken poison. Miss Stuart had been under a doctor's carc in Marton, and had been in \Ycilington about a. month on a health trip. She had been suffering from nervous breakdown. Slio was staying at Kelburne, and at about 11.30 on Saturday night a commotion was heard in her room, and Dr. l'attie was sent for. Miss Stuart, however, died at 7.10 yesterday morning. Deceased was 43 years of age. STRIKER'S DEATH. The body found floating in the harbour on Saturday has been identified as that of Len Price, a waterside worker, who lived, at 31a Frederick Street. I'rice, who was a striker, was last seen alive a week ago. STRUCK ISV TRAM-CAR. David M'Quinton was knocked down by a tram-car at the corner of Manners and Willis Streets on Saturday evening. The motoruian gouged and stopped the ear, but Mr. M'Quinton walked on to the line apparently unaware of the, danger. When ho was struck by the car lie received slight injuries, and is at present in the Public Hospital, where ho was sent by Dr. Cahill, who witnessed the accident raid attended the injured man in Mr. l'errett's shop.

CAPSIZE OF BOAT. (li'y TclcEraph.--Press Association.) Auckland, November 'JO. Frank Goldsworthy, farmer, a single man, was drowned in the Waihou River through the capsizing of a small boat in which ho was carrying pigs.
