SALVATION ARMY.
ITS FIELD FN THE DOMINION. Commissioner Lamb, who has just returned to England from a tour in Now Zealand nnd Australia, lian been interviewed, in London in reference to his experiences while ho was away. Dealing with N-ew Zealand ho said:—"l spent eighteen days in tho Dominion, one of which was occupied by an inspection of the two islands near Auckland purchased a few years ago by tho Army, where a most- interesting experiment is being carried on in connection with male arid female inebriates committed to the care of tho Army by the Government. " 'Do you regard tho general prospects for our work in Now Zealand as pood? 1 ho was asked. " 'Yes! Tho response of tho peoplo to tho "William Booth Memorial" appeal and the almost universal respect in which tho Army is held throughout the country evidence the fact that tho people aro with us. Tho completion of tho "William Booth Memorial" Training College, now in course of erection, will give facilities for the regular training of fifty' officers.' " 'What are your conclusions regarding our position in New Zealand and Australia?' he was finally asked. " 'I have no hesitation in affirming that, judged by any tests, the Army is vigorous and strong.' "
