DANCING IN SCHOOLS.
PRACTICIO NOT APPROVED OP. The question of allowing dancing ill school (mtldings was discussed at yesterday's meeting of the Wellington! Education Hoard, when the Ejnini School Committee asked tho board not to insist, on its direction that no dancing should |,o allowed. It was explained bv several members that country committees received considerable revenue from letting the school building for public purposes. Tho chairman said that mulct two Act the letting of tho building was at the discretion of tho committee, but lie thought it would be. better if dancing wow not allowed. Mr. A. W. Hogg said that nearly evert school was used for dancins. but'ho thought that, permission should l>e aiven onlv for -n limited term. Aitken enlarged on tho danger of lire, and asked who would lie responsible if a school was burnt down ax tho result of smoking at > a (in nee. Ho moved that all school buildings so used should be insured. !. The motion was carried.
