COAL FOR THE CITY COUNCIL.
Of tho thousand tons'of coal secured by tho City Council from the Gas Company last week, nearly 100 tons havo been discharged' into tho yards of the electric light station.' Messrs. Maco and Nicholson's steam wagon has'been chartered for tho delivery of tho coal, and is doing good work. Owing to tho ■weight of the vehicle itself! it is not allowed to, tako a full load from the wharves, but at tho present rato of ■progress the coal should be transferred into the corporation bunkers by the lend of- this week.
