GELIGNITE ON RAILWAY LINE
AN OLD MAN CHARGED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, November 21. All old 'man named Joseph Davis, aged 75 years, who was arrested yesterday afternoon in counectiou with "tlio reported finding of gelignite at the Green Lano Railway Station, was charged at the Polico Court this morning that about Wednesday last 110 placed two plugs of gelignite, with detonators and fuso attached, at tho Greon Lano Station. Chief Detectivc M'Mahoit asked for a week's romand, and Mr. Singer, who appeared for accused, did not oppose the application, but asked that bail bo allowed. Mr. Cutten, S.M., refused to allow bail, but stated that if any exceptional circumstances arose respecting the prisoner's health further application could bo made. Accused was in a fainting condition when charged, and had to bo accommodated with a chair and given water to drink.
