MR. GLOVER'S PLAINT.
PARLIAMENT AND THE EXHIBITION. An impassioned plea that Parliament should adjourn-in order to allow its members to attend the Auckland Exhibition was made in the Houso of Representatives yesterday by Mr. A. E. Glover. , He declared that ho was not in the confidence of the members of liis sido of tho House in regard to the obstruction, but he appealed to members to ,put the Bill through and wind up tho session by the end of next week. Mr. Witty: Ah, you want to go to tho Auckland Exhibition. Mr.' Glover: Nover mind about tho Exhibition. I will be there in any case. I do desiro to go there. The Primo Minister ought' to bo there, the Leader of His Majesty's Opposition ought to be thero, all members of Parliament ought to bo there. (Hear, hear.) I, in any case, will bo in tlic Qucon City. I may bp transgressing—— Mr. Witty : • 'Where? In the Queen City? (Laughter.)' Mr. Glover again appealed to members to finish up the session and lot them all get away to their "happy homes." "I implore and entreat, and I entreat and implore again that members should end this debate," ho continued in his most, persuasive tones. , In the course of his remarks Mr. Glover looked - towards tho Government benches and said jocularly: "I would like to be over there." Ho was at once greeted with a hearty chorus of: "Hear, hears," from Government members, and cries, "Como over."
