This announcement will bo received I with a very great deal ol' regret by niany in Wellington, who contemplated visiting Auckland next month, to witness grand opera as wo have navcr yet seen or heard it iit'thc Dominion. The season was to have extended from December 8 to December 18, crmblino the company to proceed 011 to Vancouver by the Makuni on December 20. New Zealand was to have hear;! for tho first time such operas as ''Tristan and Isolde," "The Talcs of .Hoffmann," "The Jloistcrsingers," and'other magnificent works, and would have had the pleasure of hearing the finest operatic orchestra ever heard in Australasia.
