• ROYAL CE.Id.RAJj SOCIETY. The. final rehearsal of "Judas Maccabaeus" (Handel's groat militant cantata) h.v the Royal Choral Society last evening was very successful, and everything points to a very fine, performance at. the Town Hall tin's evening. Mr.' Christian Helleman will conduct a chorus and orchestra of .150, and these wil Ihe supplemented hy a e'hoir of 100 children's voices in "See the Conquering Hero Comes." A strong quartet of soloists has hecn engaged, the members of which have never met on the one platform. Two are strangers to the J/Vjininiuo'n—■ Messrs.. Ilarrv Noil (enter) end Iteginald Conud (basso), both of Sydney. Mrs. Arthur Mead, of Christchurch., will sing the soprano music, and Miss Nellie. Castle will iiiidertikii (be._eonlralto role. The doors will open at, 7.15 this owning, and tho oratorio will conclude at 10.15.
