Tho House of Itcpresentatives met at 2.30 p.m. Mr. J. PAYNE gave notice of a motion of want of confidence in the Government as a protest against what ho described as their failure to deal with the present industrial crisis. Tho PRIME MINISTER: I would like to ask'the Right Hon. Leader of the Opposition whether he was consulted in reference to this motion, or whether ho approves of it r" SIR J. WARD said that he had heard nothing, of tlio proposal, aud was not expected to bo responsible for. what the lion, gentleman'(Mr. Payno) did. Mr. W. A. VEITCH (AVanganui) gave notice i.o ask the Government whether it Would set up an independent tribunal to bring about a settlement of the prosent industrial dispute. Mr. A. E.' GLOVER (Auckland Central) gave notice of a similar question.
